I don't know of any, but I'd suggest that you fly around and examine some plants that you like and see how they are put together. Most are just thin planes with textures set at cross angles (and alpha on the edges). The biggest problem is avoiding a white outline between the alpha and your plant texture, and how you do that will depend on the software that you are using.

I can't wait for SpeedTree. Gunna have so much fun designing strange and exotic plants that react to wind like the Linden plants. I really don't like the frozen-in-place plants we can currently create with prims.

Keira - I should be in-world for awhile tonight (around 8 -10 eastern) I'd be happy to offer you a TP to my gardens and spend some time teaching you what I know.

Is SpeedTree going to happen before or after Havok 2, Avatar Clothing Layers, Multiple Attachments, ... ?

If they ever do implement SpeedTree, I sure hope they remove some of the restrictions placed on Linden trees.

Vote Prop 955! Discuss it here!

LOL, it's been a while since I got on my Linden tree soapbox... :p

Feels good! :)

also you can make your flat panels thinner
by changing to a sphere and dimple both sides
then change back to a cube then its ez to
size it how you want, i would put a transparent
texture on it first the edit the 2 faces
you want your alpha tree/plant on,
then drag copy it and hit ctrl-z to snap it
back to its location and rotate it about 45'
and repete.
