I've been trying to finish a commisioned build for several weeks now(read two updates ago) I wont even go into the problems based on the previous patch, but currently LL has left me in a situation where its looking like I am going to have the customer return the entire 1200 prims with 300 scripts and start over from scratch.
There are walls that are there that arent visible or selectable, I know they are there because I cant walk through them, and oh look at that pretty window over there - oh wait it disappeared - wait a min maybe it will come back, err maybe not - oh wait there it is - damn you missed it well how about this wall over here err whhere did it go? it was just there? Well maybe If I change the texture /transparency with the scripted wall panel switch for it I made, oh wait took that into inventory last night when I had tp shrink the entire build with stretch just a bit, well was going to but it wouldn't let me, oh well let me drag the switch panel out of my inventory, hmm not where it should be, oh well good thing I named it I'll just search for it- hmm cant find it? errr why are there only 2600 items in my inventory I know it was over 3700???? ok missing everything I removed from house yesterday, hmm and the master copies of several things I built last month, and.... ummm did LL make a new arbitrary inventory wiper tool to amuse themselves?? Sigh I wish I hadn't spent the down payment customer gave me for this build, I'd refund his money and just #R$@$%$#@ quit
So again I say,
Thanks LL

I've had to tolerate a whole lotta cussing lately from the other side of the room because my partner is experiencing similar issues. She's randomly lost several things that she's worked very long and hard on. Fortunately most of the things are small enough in size that they can all be linked, so that she can do an hourly "take copy". Otherwise she'd have straight quit two weeks ago. I would dearly love to see an ability to back up your work to an offline store on the local machine. I know the LibSecondLife project has the beginnings of such a capability, but it's immature still and flaky. That's something I intend to spend a little time on in the near future, but I don't know at this point if it's gonna be a futile effort You have my sympathies, for whatever the heck that's worth. [Edit] Apparently the whole "take copy" thing is also not reliable, she's lost several things in her inventory as well. I had thought it was just the "in progress" stuff.

Elvawin, sorry to hear of your troubles. That's gotta be really frustrating. Before you go and trash the whole build to start over, have you tried clearing your cache?
I was having very similar problems to yours after last week's update until I cleared my cache, and then everything was fine. When this week's update came out, the first thng I did after installation was clear my cache, and I haven't had any trouble so far.
Obviously, I can't promise a cache wipe will solve your problem, but it's worth a try. Good luck.
