I just saw a very disturbing bug related to "sell objects with land". I've reported it, but I thought I'd just give everyone a heads up.

Honestly, I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't witnessed every step.

I sold a build using "sell objects with land". Next owner was set (mod/copy/notrans).
Everything appeared to transfer to the new owner correctly. However, when he tried to modify one of the linked pieces using "Edit Linked Parts", it wouldn't let him.

It was a linked object with several prims. I was listed as the creator and he was shown as the owner. I asked him to unlink the prim that he was trying to edit and when he did, the unlinked prim suddenly showed me as the owner!

So somehow, the linked object was composed of prims with two different owners!

Like I said, I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen each step.

I actually experienced this recently, and it seems that ownership/modification rights do not transfer over to linked prims. Seems kinda counter-intuitive.

Well, this part of it used to work fine. This is definitely a new bug. Perhaps LL broke it when they were trying to fix one of the other bugs related to selling with land.

I put in a report on this, still waiting though. Do you think LL will come over and do some magic so i can modify it anytime in the near future?

Or should I start re-constructing my 600+ prim treehouse?
