Hypnotic indeed. Watch it enough, and I am sure you will understand more than sculpties.

Oh, this one is soo nice ;-)

Would you allow me to use this sequence as an intro for my enhanced "sculpties for purists" video ? It just describes visualy, what i intend to show in more detailed steps (how to make the basic sculpty shapes out of a mesh...)

Would that be possible ? of course credits to the author included ;-)

What have I got set up wrong?

Sure.

I've heard a rumor that if you watch the video long enough an advanced study option will appear at the right hand side of the page....

Once you've opened the blend file, you can scrub the timeline and bake out a sculptie map related to that frame of the video. Yes, the video is all done with a single sculptie morphing :) Render - Render Animation will render all 250 frames of the video.

The material is just a node based sculptie map set to wireframe, except I used Local co-ords rather than Original Co-ords from the geometry node to get the look I wanted.

Have Fun!

Reminds me of something that I've been kind of working on when I need a diversion. I actually took the AV mesh into Max and rigged it. Sitting at a table. There is a plane that is a sculptie plane. As the rigged AV waves his hands around, the sculptie plane dances about and morphs into different things. Simple at first, sphere, terrain height map, chamfer box. As he gets the hang of it, he gets more ambitious and folds it into a new work table for himself.

Anyways, good show.

What little trick are you playing this time :) ? Once again, i am clueless... The video is 16 seconds long... and then ? what means "long enough" ? Let it play in an endless loop ? Do i have to configure my .avi player (winamp, or windows media player) in a special way ? and where would i get the .blend file ? I don't see the "advanced study" option ...

Was just telling you that I'd added a link for the .blend file that made the video in the right sidebar. I thought the next paragraph would make that obvious....

... Next paragraph in the other post not here ;)

I can't watch these. Windows Media can't get the codec. Are these meant to be watched in Quicktime?

Try now, I've encoded as h264 and re-uploaded the videos.
