good time for discussions?

I would like to start hosting philosophical discussions at my place, once or twice a month. First I'd like to get any feedback on good days and times.

I see a number of these things have been held at 4 pm SL time. Is that a particularly good time of day? Would 5 or 6 pm SL time be better for folks?

I am looking at Mondays, Wednesdays, or Sundays. Any preferences?

Spengler, speaking strictly for myself, I simply would love to have discussions set at other times :)

The reason for the 2 PM slot is mainly historical, many of the founding Thinkers' were once either GMT/CET-based or East Coast-based, and that time was pretty reasonable for everyone. Not surprisingly, the time attracted more people from these two regions, and most hosters continued to post their events at that time.

Two other groups, similar-minded, are the Philosophers (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and the Digital Cultures (Wednesdays) group. Since most of the people attending the Thinkers' events use to attend those as well, these are mostly posted at a later hour (around 4 PM).

Also a very few still attend the Doers group meetings, often at 6 PM :-) So, all this is basically "tradition", there is no real reason for those times.

New timeslots will also mean attracting a completely different set of new people interested in these types of discussions. So yes, I'm fully for that :) Feel free to sort out a few ideas and check with one of the officers just to see if they're ok. From your suggestions, it looks like any day would be ok if you start around 5-6 PM. if you wish to do it slightly earlier, Mondays and eventually Sundays would be better (I sometimes post a few non-Thinker events around 2-4 PM Sundays, but not always, it depends on the amount of time I've left at those days).
