Imogen, the easiest way is to attend a Thinkers meeting in SL. Meetings are held 4-5 times each week at 4:00 PST. Some are scheduled irregularly at other times. At each meeting a Thinker Prefect invites any visitors to join. Else, you could IM one of the officers in-game. All this is easy to track by looking up Thinkers under Groups or Events with the Find tool.
