After Thursday's meeting, and with the kind permission of all the authors I have put the various letters that were submitted for discussion up. I'm not going to put up the discussions as well - too complicated.

Anyone got any more thoughts, or any more letters they would like to share?

...letters start...

Dear RL partner --

If you join me in SL I'll buy you something! It's called a seburo. You like shopping, right? We can go shopping in SL, and get matching seburos. It'll be cute!

What d'you say?

...end...

message to my puter
ooooooooo processor of my dreams,
never let me down,
you put me in a virtual life,
which is more exciting than the RL one.

oooooooo memory and hard disk,
never le me down,
you contain all my dreams.

ooooooooooo video card,
never let me down,
you have all my true pixels and colors.

oooooooooo to you my puter,
never crash please,
with you, SL is my true life.

...end...

I found this really hard, despite having set it. There were so many people I wanted to write to... I was going to cheat, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, Why? But I went for someone different in the end...
Wu' Cheng'en, author of 'Monkey'
I wanted to write to him, because he wrote one of the few books that tries to sell buddhism as a proseltysing religion

Letter would go:
Buddhism is an inner path of meditation. Why do you contribute to the world illusion by spreading words? Despite that, the book you wrote has inspired millions through the ages, including me, to THINK. Thank you for that.

It's a letter to Santa :)
Dear Santa, It's not Christmas yet - but why shouldn't I give my list early? You'll have lots of time to think about it first :)
First, I wish that you were real. That's easy to accomplish: join Second Life now, and you can be as real as everyone else here.
Secondly, I wish that people would get along well with each other. Again, this is also easy. On Second Life people usually get along quite well.
Thirdly, I wish for health for everyone. Again, that's easily done. On Second Life, nobody gets ill...
Then I wish everybody had a place to call their own, a home of their dreams, where they can enjoy it, and share with their friends. I guess that's what happens in Second Life when you can build your home in a few hours!
I wish there was no one starving in the world. In Second Life, you don't need to eat at all.
I also wish that everybody would have enough money to enjoy the pleasant things of life. On Second Life, we already get stipends, and most of the stuff is for free anyway.
Santa... I just realized that your first name is Philip :) and you have already fullfilled all my wishes...

A note to Thinkers
This is a proper note, so i'll start it the proper way:

Dear Thinkers,
Although i am new here i have been following your meetings, thanks mainly to Gwyn here, who kindly tells me all about them. Since 2nd Life is a mind game, i find it a great idea to have these events in which you can share your mind with others. And now for that old promise: I will try and attend in future lol.
Yours sincerely
