I am attempting to make a simple flting pet with flapping wings. After much trial and effort, it seems the only way to do it is to make a "hing for the wings to rotata back and forth on it similar to a door hinge which seems a bit clunky to me. extra prims etc. Is there a way to make a flat panel aka wings flap while attached to a parent prim (body) without the use of "hinges" ?
If so, please make your answer as simple as possible as I am atotal noob.
Thanks in adavance

One popular method of making wings "flap" is having three prims, and changing them from full transparent to fully visible in sequence, so it looks like the wings are moving.

make the wing prims twice the length you want, then use "cut" to halve them. this gives you a prim the size you want with its center at it's trailing edge.
this will allow the prim to appear to rotate on it's edge rather than it visible center
