* Are vehicles exempt from autoreturn? I notice they don't get returned if I'm in them even if I'm on low return time land. Is this procedurally set somehow? * Are there any examples of attachment vehicles out there? I actually own one but I have no idea how it works, but I'm curious. Are there any benefits to them over normal vehicles? Drawbacks? I have some general programming experience but developing in SL seems mindbending right now. I'm a forums newbie too, so be gentle please!

From: Jadin Harbinger * Are vehicles exempt from autoreturn? I notice they don't get returned if I'm in them even if I'm on low return time land. Is this procedurally set somehow? No. Things being sat upon are exempt, however. Chances are you are sitting on your vehicle. From: Jadin Harbinger * Are there any examples of attachment vehicles out there? I actually own one but I have no idea how it works, but I'm curious. Are there any benefits to them over normal vehicles? Drawbacks? Yes, there are. They generally come in the form of flight-assist devices, such as jetpacks. Yes, there are advantages, and yes, there are drawbacks. You cannot be unsitted from them because you are not sitting on them in the first place. Unlike normal vehicles, you cannot lose them when *you* are autoreturned. However, you cannot have passangers along for the ride. From: Jadin Harbinger I have some general programming experience but developing in SL seems mindbending right now. The other disadvantage to attachments is that they do not inherently protect you from pushes in any way (note: attachments do not currently affect avatar mass, no matter how big they are). Vehicles could because even the physical ones are often massive enough that a push isn't likely to do much to them (I believe pushes done directly to an avatar sitting on a PHYSICAL object still have effect, but I haven't really experimented with that; I HAVE messed with pushing massive objects though).
