Is there a way to set you cam to a object that you can move around? i read about cam permissions.. but im not sure i understand this? has this been approached..? i think the most accurate discription would be a "spy cam" but those words are too small to search for.. can someone help?

I think someone managed this. I've forgotten who, but the product they sell for L$1500 is called the Cali Cam, I believe one of the features is that you can set the camera position and camera target position by moving objects (temp rezzed?)

Looks like there are some limits on how far it can go.
It would be really cool if you could some how put what the camera sees onto a wall or something else.

Yes someone has made such a thing called the Cali Cam System - ME There is a limit of 50m ( as in normal SL camera movement ) - Although a certain Island owner informs me he can see the whole island using it - never tried myself - not owning an island etc. And a new part of the package is a camera-focus-view position rig that allows you to move a camera and focus around then store the resultant view details in an object that can be touched to give you ( or someone wearing a viewer) the same view. As for pulling the view into a texture - not at the moment, we can but hope.
