I have a scripted object i've been working on a for a while now. Twice now, it's gone "corrupt", in that the prim won't rez anymore anywhere (have even tried wearing it.) I know i should have had a backup -- i did, in a box, but it is "corrupt" too. have tried clearing cache, making sure i'm even trying to rez it on the ground (as opposed to on top a mega prim), tried rezzing it in the preview grid, tried passing it to someone else to rez.... (Oh, and I don't get the "missing from database" error that often occurs) Before I rewrite all the scripts for a third time (gah) -- can anyone think of anything else I should try?

Passed it to Scout Linden. He couldn't do anything to fix it.
Oh well, shouldn't take more than a few evenings to rewrite.

It's a good idea, whenever you write a script, to copy and paste it into a file on your computer. Saves a lot of headache.

I'd add a SVC JIRA for it - make sure to include the UUID.
I usually go to Andrews office hour on Thursday PMs. If you post the JIRA number, and if I remember, I'll ask him about it. Dunno if that's his gig but he's usually pretty clued in..

I asked at Andrews office hour just now.. Check the wiki for the whole transcript (which may take day or 3 to get updated) but I did get permission to quote this one bit: From: someone [17:56] Sindy Tsure: what's his best bet? jira? support ticket? start stalking you? [17:56] Simon Linden: Support ticket FTW!

Have you tried giving it away, maybe to a gullible Linden? Simon might be on, 23 Dec, at his scenic roof-top at 11AM, in Denby.

prims could become unrezzable (but still copyable and fully operational inworld) in pre-mono-times if a prim name a prim description a prim floattext (all theese are prim properties that can be set by a script) contain invalid utf8 characters, or too many and the last letter is cut half off at the end.
I could easily reproduce this error back then but lost most reproducability afterwards, the problem changed but still exists and more people know about it as there are now warnings on sls wikis that did not exist back then.
