Something horrible's happening...

Is the LSLWiki server blocking you with the following message?

From: someone
This Account Has Exceeded Its CPU Quota

Please contact this site's webmaster.

Wait a few minutes and use your browser's "Back" button or click here to try again.

If you are the webmaster, your account may have exceeded for one or more of the following reasons:

* Your site has used more than 20% of the cpu.
* Your account has too many processes running at the same time.
* Your site was consuming too many resources. This happens on occassion to very busy sites that have inefficient scripts running.

Golly... this is horrible... my brother runs a server farm -- does whomever's in charge of the LSLWiki want to transfer?

What's the CPU/bandwidth limit on the current LSLWiki servers anyway?!

I got the same. Basically the website probably got a lot of hit along with SecondLife lately but didn't have the traffic quota. They need to upgrade their hosting account.

Why Wakka?

Curious... Why are they using Wakka instead of [ulr=http://wikimedia.org]MediaWiki[/url] or even MoinMoin, which actually has a class for highlighting LSL functions?

I have no problems connecting whatsoever.

But, I do personally dislike the current Wiki software :(

Nevertheless, I use it constantly, can connect right now, and am glad that it is available.

Try again -- it seems that I can connect almost every other time (or, the current server hates me every other time)!

Look at the LSL WIki thread here in the forum somewhere. You can download a copy of the entire wiki and browse it in your computer.

It would be awesome if SL just included the wiki with its updates, that way when you go to "Scripting documentation" it would just show the Wiki, which is a far more valuable resource than the included guide. As long as LL made sure updates were made to the wiki to reflect upcoming changes BEFORE the release, then it would be as up-to-date as really it needs to be.

There is a note on the lslwiki.com site that says the exceeded CPU quota messages should go away when the wiki is updated to a new version.

I like the wiki the way it is just fine, better than the mediawiki sites i have seen, with the sole exception that I would like to have the search field at the top of the screen rather than the bottom.

There are a couple of places to find a backup wiki at:

http://rpgstats.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

http://slhomepage.com/lsl/index.htm

I think there may another mirror or two but I don't know the urls.

It would be awesome If LL considered documentation to be an integral part of the software development life cycle... but apparently our membership fees are a bit higher on that list.....

Yea Neurosis Said it....

I had posted a question in the lsl wiki stickie about putting a link in the wiki with the latest crawl and it's date. Evidently everyone is doing thier own crawls. Does'nt doing crawls contribute to the problem??? There was no response from anyone.

i dont see where everyone is doing a crawl, theres nothing online to support this, publicly theres my crawl and the offical mirror, which was my june crawl mixed with a september google crawl (while the wiki was totally down) ...

ok 1 more crawl i forgot someone updated their 2005 copy

its most likley too much traffic on a host that was very quickly chosen when the badgeo site went down

yes crawling doesnt help... but this thing isnt exactly doing orbital calulations either, the host is just ill suited to the demand
