[Request retracted due to figuring out what exactly particles are - can't delete forum posts]

It'd be great if we had a "Making of SLingo" or suchlike tutorial to give ideas behind how the game was made. (or even another similar game).

You retracted the initial request but you are kind of half right anyway. You actually can write out text with particles just fine. However most people use xytext for that sort of thing. You can find it on the wiki. I believe tringo and slingo and all other similar looking scoreboards (including mine I made recently) use it. It is a priceless script to have.

Also I just posted a rezzer script that shows how to do almost the same thing that the tringo/slingo board rezzer does here:

As far as the actual GAME part of tringo and family that is another story altogether. Game coding is a bit more in depth. But the visual display of the tringo card for example uses much the same sort of method as xytext does. It hides/shows/changes little prims in a grid combination to look like something.

This COULD actually be done with particles but there are some problems with particle displays. 1 is that they will not show up if you max out your particles in an area, 2 they always show facing you so they are not always suited for everything, and 3 some people have them turned off altogether.
