Scan for own objects/prims?

Hi to everybody,

I learned that I can set up a scanner (sensor) to look for objects (Passive objects), and from the list I could sort out which ones belong to me.

Is there a way to scan only for own objects directly? I think the sensor doesn't provide this.
And - when I have found objects, is there a way to determine how many prims the objects consist of?

Background: I rented a small skybox with limited prim usage and would like a simple way to check for my prim usage. Wouldn't think it's too difficult, or is it?

Any help is appreciated - thanks a lot in advance.

If you are a member of a group that owns the land, you should be able to get a summary of prim use in the About Land/Objects scrren (by person).

No script needed function availble in edit.

Process, go to the Tools tab, Select Only My Objects. Then Select one of your known objects and go into edit mode. With the object highlighted cam above the skybox, hold shift down as you hold left click on your mouse, drag square over the entire area you wish to count and view the total prim count now seen in the General tab of the edit menu.

Hi Aylon,

I was off for some days, so my response is a bit late :)
Thank you for that answer, which gives me a good approach to handle it, but actually I was thinking of setting up an object that react eg. on touch and list the objects or the total prim count it can (how?) determine.
I'm sure there's an approach to it, but I seem a bit lost in the library....

Best regards

It is possible to do but it is something of a challenge to do. You have to setup multiple sensors making sure to overlap so that no more then 16 prim in scan range at a time. Or you have to use a rotating/moving narrow beam sensor. In both cases you also have to remove multiples. Not exactly a job for a new scripter.
