I'm creating an avatar with a wheel for legs so i need to hide the legs. Any ideas? If I can make my avatar invisible besides the prims, that will work too.

You could find someone who does custom animations and ask them to make a pose that folds the legs up. Sounds uncomfortable, but it might work.

could you make a single wheel vehicle and accomplish the same thing? In stead of sitting, can you stand and make the same thing? Similar to a snowboard, but shorter and with a wheel?

This is the avatar I am making. I don't think i can get it done as a vehicle. The legs would still be in the way. I've tried making the legs short and skinny but no luck. I've seen someone with sphere around them that make the body invisible but still showed prims. That would probably work better.

Someone may already have said it...

And take this as an idea, because I have not tried it, but I have seen some REALLY short Avvies that maybe could fit in the upper half of that image I saw from the URL provided.

...IDEA: what about an animation for the "sit" on a "1 Wheel Vehicle". The animation folds your legs at the knees. Then do that in combination with a avatar change (can this be done in a script?)... if not it can be done in an Avatar body part, that shortens the lower extremities... Since it is an Avatar, and you will be prettyu much covering your entire avvie with prims and such... make the changes to the body and save that in the same folder where the rest of the avvies things are...??

Sorry I have no code for this, but how's that for a starter idea?

I hope it helps.

You could hide your legs using the old 'invisible texture' trick... however, not everyone sees it the same way on their client, so it might or might not be exactly what you're looking for...

I still think the best approach is to fold up the avatar's legs using a custom animation.

I think animation would be the smoother one.

Cubey and Jim are right. It's probably the simplest effective solution.

And, fortunately, it's been done before. Talk to Toxius Stephanopolis.

Cracker,

Did you ever make that avatar? I'd like to see it!

I've always run into a bit of a problem with avatars that use animation to hide parts of the body. Try logging out while wearing the avatar, then logging back in again; the animation will stop when you log out, and not start again when you log back in again (at least if it's triggered by 'attach'). Makes me look rather ridiculous, with one of my avs relying on the 'suitcase' anim. :)

Hiding the legs.

You may want to check Beatfox's land [ Tilitr 7,86 ].
He has a free to copy, moddable, invisible prim that will hide normal ava parts and a refresh script that makes it work well, /as well as/ full instructions on using and modding it.

I was thinking I'd have to rely on an anim to hide my legs for my serpent ava, but now I don't. Kudos to BF Xevious. ^_^

PS: It's not 100% invis, only about 95%, but frankly, it don't bother me either way. A tiny little bit of distortion is nothing speshul to get all tied in knots about. :D

ssentially the same as Cross' idea... but I've heard that BF's is a bit more stable, and with the refresh script it fixes some of the bugs plain invis attachments leave behind.
