I am building a ride where things jump and pop out at you. I am using Sensor to trigger the particles,, and puppeteer via a chat on sensor.

Question is whether Collision or Sensor is the way to trigger the particles, Textures, and animations?

Or is there another way to go about this?

You could use VolumeDetect to detect avatars. This way you know when they go through a trigger not just when they are near it or standing on it.

It it's a ride and you have only one car going through at a time, this sounds like a practical use for llCollisionFilter (very rarely is that function useful).

Actually if you filtered it by name you could set the name to that of your ride vehicle and you could send as many as you wanted through.
