I'm having some trouble setting up Hiro's Holo Vendor and was wondering if anyone would be able to help clarify some things for me please. I got the vendor package from his store and have been trying to set it up in a sandbox with just a couple of quick items I made and haven't been able to get very far. The vendor does not seem to respond to any of the commands I say, whether I try and use his default name or change his name. And when it comes to step 4, linking the object to the holo thing, I'm very confused. He says:

4. - For Holo vendor only:
To ensure prims are rezzed in a correct place, you will need to attach
each item for sale to the "HOLOprim - transparent" object,
located in the Holo vendor kit.
You do this in 3 steps:
4a. Rez the transparent HOLOprim, and move / rotate / align your
product however you want it to rez in your vendor.
If you align it upside down relative to the HOLOprim, it will rez
upside down. If you are not clear on this, the best
thing to do is experiment. If you have trouble working with the
HOLOprim as invisible, I recommend making the texture
semi-transparent / no texture while you work with it. You need to make
sure it's transparent when you are done.
DO NOT change the rotation of the HOLOprim.
DO NOT use the HOLOprim on the actual object for sale
DO NOT set the HOLO items for sale with a price - that would just be silly.
4b. Rename the HOLOprim - to the name of the item for sale and "HOLO"
added to the end of each object. For instance, if your item is named
"car" you will rename it "carHOLO".
4c. Select JUST your item for sale. THEN select the transparent
HOLOprim. Hit Control-L or Tools -> Link. You MUST make
sure that you select the HOLOprim last so that it becomes the new
primary prim, else your object may not rez in the
appropriate direction / alignment.
4d. You now should have a copy of your item for sale, linked with the
HOLOprim as the primary prim, named the same
as the item for sale, but ending in HOLO.

Does this mean I make two copies of each item I'm selling? The actual item to sale and another one called itemHOLO that is exactly the same except marked temporary? What do I link to what exactly? And where do I put everything after it is linked? Any help or clarification of this process would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

yes

yes, but the root will be the holo object provided by hiro and that should set the object's properties.

What do I link to what exactly?

You probably should select "view invisible objects" (or something like that) in the view menu so you can see the holo object.
You should rez and position the two objects side by side.
You select edit on your own object first, then you hold the shift key down and left click on the "invisible" object. They should both be outlined in yellow. Then you click on the Tools menu and select "Link". The invisible object's outline should stay yellow, your own object should become blue. Close the edit box and the item is ready for rezzing by the vendor.

drag the *holo item into the vendor. Then drag a copy of your original object from your inventory into the vendor. If you right click the vendor and select "open" from the pie menu you should see the two items listed one below the other. Do not delete any scripts!

I have never seen nor operated a hiro vendor, so these are just my guesses.

Welp, for not knowing what you're talking about, that was great, haha. I'm pretty sure it's working now, thanks.
