Modding a Gigas Vendor

First off, I filed a SecondServer support ticket already, just coming here to see if I can get answers in the meantime.

Anyway, you're supposedly able to copy all of the scripts out of a Gigas vendor, and place them in a custom vendor. So, I built my own, trying to match it up like the original vendor, made the main display the root, and I put all of the scripts in it. It doesn't seem to work. No dialogs, no nothing. I've even went through it and reset all of the scripts, I've taken copies and re-rezzed them, etc.

So basically, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with modding the current Gigas vendors, and could offer some insight. They are noted as fully modable. :D

I've never tried to mod one of those. Never heard of them actually, but double check that the running box is checked.. Everytime I drag a folder of scripts into an object it turns run off.. Doesn't happen if you drag each script, but the folder does it to me every time..

You can holler at me in game and I can take a look at it as well.. It's probably just some bit or bobble hanging it up..

Thanks for the reply, I'll have to double-check that. It's on hold for the moment because I was having trouble with the vendors not delivering objects yesterday, so I took them down.

Stylez - I've never had much luck with Gigas vendors, nor getting support for them. I love the idea of a remotely updateable vendor system, but my Gigas vendors never propagate updates to the secondserver database. I finally reverted back to a more conventional type of vendor. Please let us know if you figure something out.

I'd probably hold off a few days we are in the middle of a massive version update at the moment which will render a lot of the older vendors obsolete (they will still work, but they will be lacking a lot of the new functionality), I'll post some screenshots below, the full feature list (a lot of it will be a suprise) I will post in a few days;

The two biggest updates have been to reliability (now does not suffer problems when the SecondLife DB server is dead, and should be extremely difficult to break), and ease of use (with the ability to simultaneously edit multiple items at once in bulk), with a helping of new functionality.

Screenshots (some are a little out of date):

Current ETA looks like it will be released for testing on the 6th, with a final launch on the 12th or 18th depending on how many bugs are discovered.

Now, topic at hand:

The vendors should be modable without any problems (just need to re-rez the object when you are done putting the scripts in), if you do encounter some problems, find Nexus Nash, as the inworld components are his domain.

Support tickets have been winding up a bit recently so it does sometime take us a while to work through them (one of the problems with having over 200 vendor customers (plus the rental and website parts)), but we eventually do, if we dont reply within a day or two, poking Nexus is the best way to get things sorted.

 The screenshots look awesome! Can't wait, because I love the ideology of just clicking UPDATE VENDORS on the site and every vendor in the world is updated with your current inventory at a single click!

As for the modding, I figured it should prompt me when I rez it but it hasn't been. I'll do some more testing and see if I can figure it out. I'll also try to poke Nexus but I never catch him online. lol

UPDATE:
I deleted my server completey, rezzed a fresh one, restocked it with my items, redid the descriptions on the site, and now it's working fine.

Is there a problem with taking a server into inventory, then placing it down somewhere else, like a different sim? It seemed to me like the server was communicating with the site but it wasn't delivering items.

I still haven't tried modding a vendor.. I'll get around to that later.
