I've been trying to figure this vehicle flag out, but it seems to do absolutely nothing. When I set it, my balloon stopped hovering and slams into the ground, even when the hover altititude is far higher than the altitude I'm at. Can someone PLEASE shed some light on what this is supposed to do?

It seems like it does what I want, but the actual hover is weird... I used it in a low-elevation location (20 off the ground) and it worked like a charm. I used it on a 150 elevation ground, and even with the hover altitude set to 250 I couldn't get it off the ground. Similar results at 120...

It's limited to 100m.
If the ground is higher than 100m then you'll be slamming into it pretty hard as the vehicle tries to get to 100m.

So I can't get above 100m, even if it's rezzed inside that range? ...That makes it completely useless on the land masses that the Lindens designed. Amazing.

For flying / floating vehicles I ended up just not using the global hover height at all. Set the vehicle buoyancy to zero so it floats, and then apply linear motion along the z axis to go up or down.

I was going to do that, but linear motion causes it to drift forward or backward uncontrollably when I go up or down, and makes it so I can't go forward and up, or forward and down, etcetera. The latter problem is easily fixed, but the former I can't figure out.
