heyas;
okay, this has me banging my head against the wall. i don't even think it's actually a scripting question, but it deals with scripted objects.
i built a new bow, and i threw the summer camp bow scripts and arrow into it. it works perfectly.
i take out the arrow, i change the texture of the shaft. then i replace the arrow in the bow with this arrow. and the bow shoots the arrow out and it sticks in the air right in front of the bow!
WHY??????
all i did was change one stinking texture! i tried it with leaving the texture, just changing the colour, and it broke!
okay, im not using 'save object back to contents' because that A: doesn't work for me (it says there's already an item with that name in the contents -- uh, duh, that's what im trying to update??) or B: causes a buffer overrun.
so i throw the arrow on the ground from the object. edit, take/take copy into my inventory. delete the arrow out of the object, then throw this new arrow in. and its borked!
WHY??????
okay, i can change the arrow's script just fine. (i set it to listen on channel 44, not 0). put new one in, it shoots. make it red, it doesn't shoot. is it some law of physics that darker arrows dont go as far?? wha????!
i tried resetting the scripts in the arrow. i tried resetting the scripts in the bow. it just doesn't help.
i havent changed ANYTHING else. not the rotation. i didn't unlink or relink. just edit linked parts, texture tab.
i just changed the colour of an original, saved object back to my inventory, and threw it in the bow. it doesnt work.
just shoot me!
