i know that the object selected in the end is the root. but i tried with three object say 1,2,3 when i touch 1 it becomes child of 2 then when i touch 2 it becomes child of 3 and since 1 is already its child this works fine if i now unlink 3 i get back the parent child relation between 1 and 2
but when i touch 2 first it becomes child of 3 now when i touch 1 it becomes child of 3 but parent of 2, whyz that so ??

Want to save yourself a lot of headaches? Name your prims, then you can find their link numbers at runtime with llGetLinkName.

For LSL, if you link a new child, its prims are inserted into slot 2, and then older children are appended to the end. Your description with "touching" is a little confusing (are you using the editor, or some script?) but does that match what you are seeing?
