This is in the catoregies of one of those things that you just do over and over again, then one day go, "zheesh, there's got to be a better way."
Okay you have a prim for sale, and inside there are 7 things, or 3, or 17, doesn't matter. On each individual thing I've been setting the perms by selecting them all, choosing properties so that all their property windows open at once, then working through the windows setting perms, then doing it all over again to proof my work.
Last night I was doing it on about 17 different products, and by about the 5th product, I was going zheesh, there's got to be a better way. This just takes way too long, and is so prone to human error -- it's one of those tasks you get bored of that you don't always pay full attention, especially if someone is chatting in your ear at the same time.
And in every other application I work in outside SL, I can set access control en masse, as I'm sure you can, too.
Questions:
1) If one is to do it manually, is there a better way to do it than the way I'm doing it. Am I missing a menu option still that you select and say "stamp all" with the same perms and you're done in 30 seconds and off to the slingofest with your buds.
2) I just want to confirm that nothing like llSetInventoryPermMask() was ever implemented. Wiki shows it being thought about in May of this year, and now requiring God status, something I have never aspired to because I studied Greek mythology in school and know what happens to the people who do (squash.)
(3) Is this statement true: setting perms in SL really is as tedious as it is, there's nothing we can do about it with script, and it's just another part of what's good and bad about SL.
