Please forgive me if this appears lazy- I'm nodding off, and haven't found my goal...
I need a simple "diagram" of the llsittarget funtion (it is a function- right?) Now you see how dumb I am

My purpose is to adjust the script in my favorite chair to fit my body. As it is, my butt hovers a few inches above the seat, and the back of the chair is too far back. Also, my feet are too far off the floorl. I guess this all about a chair that's too large for me! Actually, my avvy is average human male.
I've already edited the chair to make it lower, so my feet are almost at floor level.

So please, could someone explain the arguments so I can tweak the script?

BTW- It is a free generic script with no limitations on use.

Thanks

WOW- what a mouth-full you put on my plate!!
One thing about these forums, ask, and be ready to receive :o

Thanks for the leads Dora- looks like I'll go scratchin' and kickin' into scriptin' land if I want to get that chair right.

The last time I did any meaningful programming was with QuickBasic (dating myself here).

If you just concentrate on what Lex Neva says and get his: 'Easy Sit Target Positioner' for free in world, then you don't have to program one line! No sweat!

Right. Lex's Easy Sit Target is a pair of scripts, helper and setter, that you have to put into objects, and when the sit target is set, you either paste the sit-target line into your own script or else delete the setter script. You can find them in these forums.

I took Lex's scripts and built a bit more functionality into them, included all the free sit poses I could find, and bundled them into a "product" with instructions. With mine, once you set the sit target, you can leave the script in the furniture and it does nothing unless someone clicks and holds for 8 seconds. (I also have a script you can drop in to delete the setter and replace it with one that has no touch handler, so the 8-second click no longer does anything -- IM me inworld if you want a copy.)

My scripts also handle multiple poses, as long as the poses all use the same sit-target. Unfortunately, the free male and female sits don't use the same target -- not nearly -- so it's not possible to make a seat with both masculine and feminine sits.

Hmmm, there is a way to fix that ... gears start to turn ...

Anyway, you can get mine at SLX for L$1, and it's full-perms (well, the included anims are no-mod because that's how I found them). It is probably available in freebie warehouses ingame, which is fine with me, but to be sure it's the latest version get it from SLX.

Someone else made different enhancements to Lex's, taking a very different approach from what I did, and it looked useful -- options are always good. You'd find that on this forum as well. Search for the obvious keywords as well as "Lex" and you should be able to find it.

So, you have 3 easy choices, in addition to Dora's post above. Lucky you. :)

Again- thanks guys--- will follow up.
Brings to mind the words of Thomas Edison when asked what kind of person was most valued by him..
He said it was not the most educated or most skilled or most intelligent- it was the guy who knew what to do first. ;)
