I have a Window controller purchased from a well known large mammal in a few of my buildings. And coincidently (or maybe not), the lag on my land has increased in accordance with the introduction of these window controllers.
I use the 4 self-programmed preset settings and I have no desire to use any chat commands for the windows.
So would editing the config card to 'link' instead of 'chat', help eliminate one source of this new found lag? And would I link the controller to the windows or just link the windows together? And if I link the controller, should it supposed to be the main (what's the real name for that? prime?) prim or does it matter?
TIA

"Root prim"
I know you got chased over here from Resident Answers, but unless said large mammal is watching, anybody else can only kinda speculate on how those scripts work. You may have to contact the mammal with the question (unless the scripts are open and you can post them). Just to experiment, I'd try linking the windows together with the remote separate and see if it does anything, using the "link" configuration; failing that, then yeah, I'd try linking the remote as root (last prim selected before linking), and just see if it works.
But, unless you have a *really* large number of windows, it would seem extraordinarily odd for there to be noticeable lag impact, even from a channel 0 listen. I mean, yeah, listens are laggy in combination, and channel 0 worst, but it takes quite a few of them combined to make that much difference.

Thank you for the reply.
I guess I'll experiment and see how it goes.
