Hello, I have faced I problem - that I can't solve. And I would like to describe it : I want to sell more then one item from the same vending machine ( it's the same item), for example I want to sell item "A" (which is not copyable) multiple times . The sequence is : I drag and drop item "A" into vending machine, then I drag and drop the same item "A" into the same vending machine, after that it is atomaticly renamed as "A 1" inside of the vending machine and etc. so I have same items in vending machine named "A", "A 1", "A 2" ... "A 100" and etc.. First customer which buys item "A", will receive item named "A", but another customer which will buy item "A", will receive "A 1" item and etc.. My question is : how to avoid such situation? I don't want my vending machine to give out items to my customers with a number at the end of the name, so I want that customers would always receive items named the same name, in this case it's called "A".

You can't - you'll have to give them different names. Objects in another object's inventory can't have the same name.

But how then current Vending Machines that are all over the place in Second life, are giving out items without a number at the end of their name???

You can rename the item once it's in the vendor, and the vendor doesn't have to display the full name.
Say you want to sell something no-mod copy no-transfer, as well as no-mod no-copy transfer. You drag the object in twice, set one version to the first permissions and the other to the second. Then you rename the first, I don't know, "Widget (copy)" and the second "Widget (transfer)".
Or, you could reprogram your vendor so that if there was a number at the end of the name, it stripped it off when displaying the object's name. But AFAIK you can't have two objects in the inventory of another object which have the same name. Just try it - rez one object, drop two copies of another one into its inventory, and try to rename the second one to have the same name as the first one. It won't let you, it will add a 1 at the end. This is quite sensible since scripts refer to objects in inventory by name.

Also, most of those vendors are selling objects made by the creator, who naturally has full rights to their creations. If I make an object and set next-owner permissions to no copy, I still have the right to copy my object and thus sell it.
