Hey guys, i have some questions to ask.
Is it possible to actually to link an external database to Second Life to actually access, check and even change it?
Any guides or tutorials on how to create and access the database on Second Life? Thanks

you can send plain text in and out of SL using the html functions upto 2048kb using POST or GET functionality
once it hits your site, your web scripting system (ie php) does all the database work using the info supplied from the LSL script heres a bunch of threads talking about it /invalid_link.html |

Perhaps there should just be a sticky thread giving links to all the database stuff, since it comes up rather frequently?

If we stickied every frequently asked question then we would have two pages of stickies to wade through to get to the first post. Search works, just like Osgeld did. _____________________

Fair point... I've just seen the db-type stuff coming up more often than others.

Don't wanna be picky... but this: «using the html functions upto 2048kb» is what we're all dreaming of
![]() Actually, it's only 2048 bytes... |

There already is a sticky which is a FAQ. Just check that thread out first, and add a question/answer which isn't already there, or refine an existing one.
