Now that I have a good handle on using avimator how do I get the animation into an animation override script? I just want to be floating all the time. Any help would be awesome because it seems pretty difficult.

This isn't really a scripting question I think, but I'm not sure.

Anyway.

Save your avimator animation.
Open SL.
Choose File>Upload Animation... (you need to have at least L$10 for this to show up, since it will cost $10).
There's a panel there that will let you upload with loop options etc.
Put your anim into the AO.
Choose which anims you want it to override... I'm guessing sit, all five stands, walking, running etc. will ALL need it if you want to always float. The alternative would be to rewrite the script so that in the part where it looks up the anim to play you just always choose the float anim.
Another, and still nicer, solution... upload with a high priority (3 probably, unless you don't want the typing anim) put something on that is the equivalent of a pose ball script so that the attachment plays the floating anim and overrides the default sit, stands etc. if it's just one pose you want to always play.

Thanks for the help. I guess I wasn't very clear. I want to put the animation in a script so I can give it to people and it's always on. I'm actually going to use it to hide my original avatar inside a prim, so I can make crazy floating costumes that I can sell.

I know there is a free AO script but I really have no idea how to use it.

Again, any help would be awesome.

OK, always on isn't an AO really.

Steps:
Put anim in a prim.
Put in prim a script similar to a sit pose ball script that uses your anim. Rather than changed, use attach to get the key to ask permission. Play your anim.

Using priority 3/4 should override all the walking/sitting default anims.
