According to the LSL Wiki (http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=llSetParcelMusicURL), llSetParcelMusicURL will work "if the owner has the rights to edit the parcel options".

On group-owned land, if the owner of the object has rights to edit the parcel options but the object is not deeded to the group, llSetParcelMusicURL does not work. Is this intentional?

Yes.

Sort of.

Its a literal consequence of how group-owned land works. Group owned land is literally "Owned by the group"... so the music changer must be as well.

I made a station changer for my land with llSetParcelMusicURLthat anyone can use to set the music. I was going to goto a friends place and give it a try, guess i won't waste my time.

The use of radios on deeded land is a tricky issue, because of several situations.

You need to determine exactly who you wish to use the radio. All users, group users or owner only.

My radios (with the brilliant help of Jason Keegan) depend on llSameGroup(), so in or out of a deeded situation, the user must have the same group active as the radio. Likwise, filters can be implimented with llListenRemove(). My radios have these toggles within the script and are normally left open because 99% of the people buying the radio would use it that way.

So in short, deeded radios can only be used by the group because they are the owners.
