Welcome First Poster!

Sounds like you need a combination of things for your project. You'll find your next bestest friend in all the coding world is the Wiki! You can find that at: http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=HomePage

With that, you'll have access to commands and, even better, examples. If this is still too difficult to digest, the Wiki also links mentors who may be able to help you inworld. Optionally, if you can catch me online, I'll try to help live.

In the meantime, I'll try to give you a push in the right direction.

To whisper: http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=llWhisper
To make a dialog (the blue menu): http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=llDialog
Note that dialog needs a listener: http://secondlife.com/badgeo/wakka.php?wakka=llListen

Good luck!

Note that you can put a text message into the dialog itself; you might not need the whisper, depending on what you think works best for your application.
