I was reading up on wiki about xml-rpc calls, and I was wondering if any thing has changed. Is it still limited to replying to xml-rpc calls instead of insisheating new calls? And has there been any discussion about adding html forms send and receive? or would it be possible to convert xml-rpc calls to form send and recives through a 3rd party server?

Nothing has changed with XML-RPC. It is still limited to the same reply bit only. With a backend server you can basically make a conduit to interact with whatever....

if I want to start and rpc call. I would basically need to e-mail the server with the setting to contact the object, and then have the server basically ping the object with rpc calls so that it can send information?

I gather that's the standard approach, Kurt.

I'm interested in XML-RPC too, but after tracking posts by Alondria, Azelda, et. al., I've basically blown it off until LL revamps it. I think one of the recent Town Hall meetings mentioned an April/May timeframe for rolling out a better way of doing it?

(Meanwhile, my Dreamhost account sits idle. I really ought to get up off my behind and at least get that part of it ready...)
