Can LSL force a logoff? For example, can one build an object that logs off the user when touched?

Not without either exploiting a crash bug in the client, or having the user use a custom client which exposes such a feature to a script.

Both would be very bad ideas, so... best answer: Nope!

used to be, maybe still is... but it requires an external server, php, and knowing what to send where... never tried it, saw it in action long ago, may be fixed now (I hope)

Well the script I'm using at the moment just blew me off line.

Riding a vehicle that achieved too much velocity and ran past EdgeOfWorld faster than my script or the server could stop it. It logged me off. It wasn't a crash - it left me in the view chat and scripts mode before QUIT.

'Back in the day' before they changed the client, there was no way to stop textures from opening and you used to be able to flood a client with textures which would (fairly quickly) overload (and generally crash) a client, but thankfully LL fixed it so you can shut off automatically opening textures.
