OKay, bit stumped on this:
I want to send email from an object to a user. I don't have a way for the user to enter a contact email adress. Is there a way using their key that I can have the object use llEmail to send an email to them that will get routed to their account email (like offline IMs if they have it enabled). I'd rather not rely on the IMs to Email option being turned on and if possible would rather not have to rely on the user to put in a valid email address for contact.
I tried using the stored key of the user both to @lsl.secondlife.com and @in.secondlife.com but neither worked (I didn't expect the second one to but tried anyway).

Well I didn't care about getting the email address, just to have a way to send the character a message and have it go to their email without having to request the address from them, IM works but only if they have the offline IM->Email option turned on.

If you think about it for a moment, that is exactly the thing any spammer in the world would say too (don't care about the address, just want to send them a message). I am not implying that you are a spammer, just that there is a good reason not to publish/create ways to allow people to do what you want to do.

Why don't you have a way for them to enter their email address?
You could instruct the avatars (e.g. via IM) to send their email address on a non-chat channel (preferably a random one), create a listener on that channel that terminates whenever the first message is received (or after a short time period). You would probably need some string checks and/or manipluations of the message to make sure you have a valid address, maybe even asking the av to verify it, but I think it's entirely possible to tell an object ones email address so it can send whatever email it needs to send.
eg.:
IM - object: To enter your email say /1234 followed by your email address John Avatar: /1234 johnavatar@gmail.com IM - object: The email address I received is johnavatar@gmail.com - if this is correct say yes John Avatar: yes object whispers: An email has been sent. ...
You get the idea.
