Is there any way it's possible to get the texture of the piece of land your avatar is standing on? I recently built an Alfresco Sex Machine than can be camouflaged into the landscsape, but it has to be done manually. Does anyone know any way of automating it?

You can't get the terrain texture. Why not just have it position itself below ground? Or make it go transparent?

Thanks BamBam.....
Positioning below ground isn't an option, nor is transparent - there's a difference between camouflage and invisibility. It would have been nice to have an object take on the terrain texture - i.e. a building, tank or aircraft could automatically hide itself. Ah well, another good idea to the back of the drawer. |

You can't get the terrain texture. Why not just have it position itself below ground? Or make it go transparent? Yes, you can! Everybody has those. Terrain textures are in your inventory, in the "Library -> Textures -> Terrain Textures. Don't use the ones that have "Base" as part of the name. Use the default ones only for prim texturing. I'm too tired to explain why using Base textures could mess up sim textures. _____________________

Yes I know about the terrain textures in the inventory - what I really wanted to do was read the terrain texture for the piece of land you were on, and automatically apply it to an object, which doesn't seem to be possible.
