Hi,
it depends a bit on what kind of sound you will play (bells or a shuffle - one is supposed to sound every step, the other is more a continous sound) also the problem with sound delay will be there. There are two ways I can think of to do this. Method 1: Capture the foward and back arrow keys (with llRequestPermissions and llTakeControls) in the corresponding handlers for forward and back you can play a sound Method 2: Attach it to the movement_start() handler and fire your sound there. With the WIKI down I have to be a bit vague - (note to self: get a copy next time). You'll run into the following obstacles: You cannot loop a sound - so if you press your controls and keep moving you must probably use timestapms as well as loops to make your sound come out more than once. |

Okies .... wrong term I used - apologies and all.
What I meant was that if the user hits the arrow button and keeps it pressed there is no decent way to retrigger the sound to synchronize it with steps other than fiddling with soundlength and looping it. What I would look for is - step sound step sound step sound - but this you cannot achieve by scripting, only by fiddling. ![]() |
