Is there any script out there to make an object glow...like if you were making lanterns or the smiliar and the sides (textures) would illuminate a little brighter. I know how to do full bright but wondered if there was something out there. Thanks for your time!

No.
There are building and texturing and scripting cheats for it though. Some work better than others....
You can try and build a particle system to give you that glow. It's very tricky since the particles will always be normal to the viewpoint of the user and the particles will penetrate the prims.
The commonest building and texturing cheat... you build a prim that's a bit bigger than the lamp that's cut out the right way, make it fullbright, but apply a "noisy" alpha with an intermediate (say 50% grey - black) texture in the right sort of colour for your light source. Takes an extra prim or several depending on the complexity of your lantern (you can do extra layers too) but does work well. I've used it on fluorescent tubes occasionally with a lot of success.

You can use a script to turn on/off all of the following effects that enhance or simulate light:
Full Bright Change color: black to white Change texture to fire change the visibility of a light cone hardware lighting particles - to create a halo glow around the light source

A very simple "particle glow" can be accomplished with this script: default { state_entry() { // turn particles off by using empty []'s in llParticleSystem(); // deleting this script will not stop particles! :) llParticleSystem( [ PSYS_PART_START_SCALE, <0.1, 0.1, 0.0>, PSYS_PART_END_SCALE, <1.5 1.5 0.0>, PSYS_PART_START_ALPHA, 0.9, PSYS_PART_END_ALPHA, 0.0, PSYS_SRC_PATTERN, PSYS_SRC_PATTERN_DROP, PSYS_PART_FLAGS, ( PSYS_PART_EMISSIVE_MASK | PSYS_PART_INTERP_COLOR_MASK | PSYS_PART_INTERP_SCALE_MASK | PSYS_PART_FOLLOW_SRC_MASK ) ] ); } } // Std disclaimer: This was written on the fly and may contain // simple syntax errors or enormous gaffs that could cause the // end of all universes. No warrantee is expressed or implied. // Your Milage May Vary.
