I have a menu dialog that pops up with a question and a Yes and No button. Currently when you press the Yes button it can either do an instant message or a say with a secondlife:///app link for them to click. I'm wondering if it is possible to instead of putting the secondlife:///app link in a channel to go ahead and open the link on the click of the Yes button.

sadly, no. llLoadURL... even if it worked with the inworld app links, adds another "go to page" button to click.
In my experience though, it DOESN'T work with the inworld app links.. only the webbased ones.
Suggestion... why not skip the yes/no dialog? and just deliver them the link in chat? then they can CHOOSE whether to click on it or not. Thereby cutting the number of clicks.
Suggestion: make your "givers" make a little noise.. if it's a URL or a landmarkk, or a freebie, or even just a chat-based hyperlink.. a little noise from the giver, goes a long way towards AVOIDING customers muting you by mistake. (reverse logic.. but trust me it works! see my Cool-SL signs in my shop, as an example of this!).

I think this is on purpose, to keep people from being spammed with Internet ads.

Well the concept was an easy way to pop up the group information box for people to join a group. I know a lot of people probably don't have their chat history box open all the time, so even putting a link in an IM or Say channel, they have to click to open it and then click the link.... But I guess I'll have to stick to the norm... thanks for the replies =)

The way I handled this, was simply to make a little "ding" noise on click, and spew it as chat. It works surprisingly well. The sound, if small, coincides almost precisely with the text showing up in chat, and people learn fairly quickly to open history to click the link.
It really is the best you can do.. and if it's too much hassle for them.. you don't want them in your group anyways, because they're the type of people who will complain that you spam them with announcements, even if you only send one a year.
The only other alternative is to use a bot to process join requests. or (gulp) do it by hand, from a list.
If they're too lazy to click a link in chat.. you're not missing out on anyone of value. They're not going to be the type to open your attachments, or come to your events either.

Thanks Winter... I ended up keeping the link sent to an IM, but I have the dialog box pop up informing that the group link is in their chat, and an Ok button.
