I am trying to make a box with a lid that swings open via a script.
I tried rotating around the lid with llSetLocalRot but of course it rotates around its origin.
I made a hinge and rotated the hinge like I have seen in door scripts but this only works if the lid/hinge are not linked to the box.
Any suggestions or examples?

instead of a hinge object.. Use a single box prim.. stretched twice as wide as high, and cut it in half. Then the rotation axis will be on an edge (the edge facing the true center of the prim)

Or if your shape mandates that you cannot use a cut prim, you can apply Sue Stonebender's wonderful scripting logic from here: /54/88/138014/1.html
