Do scripts EVER do what you expect?
I have this window opacity controller and in order to work it must be linked to all the windows (and by extension to most of the house). Some visitors have TP'd to my skybox and seem to have trouble finding their way back, so I thought I should label things like the teleport wall box and the window controller with a hovering text script found in most freebie boxes everywhere. The trouble is, the window controller thingie didn't show up, so I removed the script thinking maybe you can't run two scripts in the same prim.
Today when I went back, I found the entire house labled "Window Controller" in big green letters that now won't go away even after the script is deleted.
Assuming I can get them to disappear by running the script again with a "" for text, do you think people will know a control box mounted on the wall is for the windows? This is pretty standard isin't it?. Thanks. -- KC

I wonder if wanting the text to appear over a particular linked prim, works if that prim is the last linked?

if the controller is the last prim linked and you would like the float text above it, why not just add an additional invisible prim just for the floating text...

I'll try unlinking and relinking the controller last. If that doesn't work, the invisible prim is a good idea -- I just hate to hold it together with rubber bands like that. I could also upload a new texture with the label on it which would save me two prims. Thanks for the suggestions. --KC
