Scripting the find buttom

Is there a way to script the find button? Say for example when someone posts an event with "Texas Holdem" in the events area of find, can I create an attachment, and put a script in it to say poll the list to see if any new events were created, and to IM me the details?

No, there's no way to do that in LSL alone. You could have a website that could grab that information from the SL website, and then contact an in-world script, but that's about it.
