Sliding door script that stays open?

I've seen some sliding door scripts, but the ones I've seen all close the door again after a second or two. I'd like to have the door stay open, and only close if it's clicked on again.

Anyone seen one like this?

Try the NDE Doors. They can be sliding or hinged, and they open and stay open until closed again. They also can lock, and have an access control list feature. A very nice job of scripting, from what I have seen of them. A friend of mine is using these on a build she is working on, and they worked quite well.

One Caveat. For the sliding mode, make sure you reset the script in the door every time you rez or reposition the door. If you move the position of the door, and don't reset it, the 'close' sliding action seems erratic, sometimes tossing the door outside of the house! If you reset the script and tell it to be a sliding door once it is in position, this is not a problem.

Thanks, I'll check it out :)

Someone else offered me a script in game but I was busy and missed it, hehe :)

I checked with a Builder who is using the NDE doors as sliding doors in her current build. They do NOT remain open, in the normal configuration.

She also noted that while the NDE Doors are very well-scripted, the sliding door setting is very touchy about being moved or reset. If you move them at all, the door goes to the wrong position when it closes again, and sometimes leaves the building entirely!

To fix that glitch, the owner must reset the script, and then command the door to return to sliding door mode. If they are reset, but the command isn't given to return them to sliding mode, they become hinged doors. In normal use, the owner is the only one who can change the NDE door's configuration. (She has modify rights on another owner's doors, yet can't fix that if the door script gets reset.) Unfortunately, the script can get reset by someone other than the owner...

Aside from that, they are very good door scripts.

I'm currently working on a modification of a freely available sliding door script which recognizes when the doors have been moved (and hopefully also senses rotation!).

Making a version which do not automatically close again is no problem to do. IM me in-game and I'll get a copy to you.

Kyushu, contact me in-world if you want a basic sliding door that stays open. I wrote the script myself, so I can't promise it's perfect. But I have used it without any problems on several builds.
