Separation of agent and avatar via llMoveToTarget

I have a question regarding something I read in the wiki.

From: Wiki
Using llMoveToTarget on an avatar that is sitting on the ground will cause them to be "split in two", with the avatar at one spot, and the agent at the other.

How can this statement be proven? I have attempted to use llMoveToTarget to separate the agent and avatar, but both of the position functions I tried (DetPos and GetPos) returned the same position. How do we know the avatar and agent have separated? Can this be used for anything?

Thanks

ive always assumed that it was talking about like when your body moves with the object, but your camera point upinto the sky (untill you stand up then it will quickly float up to your body)

I' m not seeing that text in the llMoveToTarget entry on the Wiki, can you provide a link?

As far as I'm aware, the avatar is the agent's graphical representation within the game. It is not possible to separate them.

Ardith,

I've never come across anything like that before. To be honest, it sounds a bit like a joke entry to me.

Its referring to the difference in the position and characterisitcs of your character as the server knows it, and how your are viewing it on your screen. Like animations for example, where your "Avatar" appears to be moving around, but as far as the server is concernced, the "Agent" is stationary and simply playing an animation

I understand the concept, but there's no proof this actually happens as far as I can tell. My intent was to either prove or disprove the statement. It doesn't belong in the wiki if it's not demonstrably true.

I can tell you how to demonstrate this effect. Just have someone sit on the ground (tell them to turn off their AO first if they have one on) and then start pushing them. Their av won't look like it's moving, but their nametag will move, and with their nametag will go their physical collision body. Their actual visible av will stay on the ground where it was. When they stand up, their av will zip over to where their nametag is.
