llInstantMessage to offline people

I want to avoid, if possible, lots of playing with online/offline users.

Does anyone happen to know if llInstantMessage sends an IM even if you are offline? I think it does, but I'm not sure.

I can go and do the experiments, but thought I'd ask up front...

Yes, it will. If you only want to IM online people, you could run a quick llRequestAgentData before you send your IM.

But know that if the offline person has received too many IMs while offline, delivery will be capped and they will not get the IM -- so delivery is not guaranteed.

However, they will get it in email if they have IMs going to email while offline (in preferences).
