If you mean from your own inventory it's not possible. There's not scripted access to your inventory except to add things to it.

I want to put clothes i wish to sell in a box so I can sell outfits. I know it can be done, just not sure how,

You don`t need a script.
Rez a box, click edit- go into the contents tab....drag and drop the clothing into the box`s content tab
Usually works, too, if you just drag and drop the clothing onto the rezd box

You will also need to click on "Sell Contents" in the first tab. That will give the buyer a directory with the contents in it, as well as present them with a checkbox to select whether to wear the clothes or not.
