Hi all. Read Linden's blog on aLife and wondered if anyone had created or knew of cool emergent behaviour for 'organisms' in SL?

More than a single bot which responds to players but some bot which responds to players, other bots and the environment. This idea fascinates me :) ..what if the bots posted blogs? Hehe.

not exactly what you are talking about but in an odd off shoot way-

I was in a club one eve and someone had a 'batty' someone had an ' angel' and someone had a 'lil green dragon'

"Hello" started it , and then all 3 were talking to each other - I was literally in tears it was so funny - it really tweaked the coding nerve in me and I really want to expand on this idea.

But atm I am still too busy playing with colours, designs, clothing and jewelry to start on code stuffs - so it is bookmarked in my lil head for future.

The swarming algorithm that Apotheus Silverman posted in the scripting library probably qualifies as an example of emergent behavior.

I'd say so. Hmm, maybe something interesting for a project at a later time :)
