Is it possible to have a custom animation act upon an avatar entirely when it uses a vehicle? Everything I've tried so far, seems to keep me half in the default sit position while the rest of my body uses the custom animation. Help if you can ...

The priority of the custom anim isn't high enough. Needs to be set to 4 to override the sit anim for the legs.

or you have to stop the sit animation first.

As Strife suggested, stopping the sit animation is generally the key to getting an animation to override the generic sitting position. Something like: llStopAnimation("sit" ; llStartAnimation("hover" ; Note that this is unnecessary if the overriding animation has a high enough priority to trump the sit animation. Most of the standard ones do not. For instance, motorcycle_sit does. Hover does not.

Stopping "sit" first is probably best, as a priority 4 anim would also override typing and other gesture anims you might want to allow.
