Scripting for Mist for Waterfall

This is the first time I have used a script in my build, so please forgive my ignorance on this subject.

I have been working on a water fall and I have a script to create the animation for the water, but I would also like to add mist. I attended Toy's class on creating Water Decorations (many thanks Toy), but I am unable to make the particle script for mist work.

My questions are:

1. Can I run the Water Animation and Mist Script both in the same prim or do I need to create another prim and put the mist script in it?

2. If I can run them both in the same prim, how do I get it to work? I have "running" checked and also I have reset.

Thanks - Rose

I am not familiar with the specifics of this script and class, but perhaps I can help. The Water Animation script moves the water texture so that it looks like it is falling. The Mist Script uses the particle system to give off mist.

I think that both should be able to work in the same prim. They arn't running when you try this? Make sure that you are on land that you own or land that enables outside scripts. Also, the scripts need to be bug free to run, but that isn't what is happening. I'd check where you are building it and try adding and removing the script.

Since I don't know the exact script/class, I'm not too much help. But if you IM me in-world, I'd be glad to take a look and see what I can do.

Thanks Goshua - now that you mention it, I do not own the land but have permission to create. It could be that I do not have permission for the particle script (though the water script does work). I will ask my husband to enable the script as he owns the land and see if it will work then.

Is there a difference in permissions between a texture animation script and a particle script?

Thanks,

No, if you're able to run a script on land, they'll all work. That's the only level of restriction the landowner is able to impose.

It may be that you're doing the particle script wrong. Post it here and let us have a look. Remember to use your
CODE
tags! (It's the "#" button, next to "PHP".)
