llSetLinkTexture() - Anyone using it?

I would imagine since we FINALLY got this function, lots have started using it. Has anyone tested what the delay on this is? I'm getting varied results from immediately applying the texture to about a 5s delay. And no, it's not the sim :) I'm on a sim by myself with excellent tim dil and fps and all that happy stuff.

I've seen this too when setting textures and colors via llSetLinkPrimitiveParams. I think it's not related to a purposeful delay built into the system, so much as packet loss caused by how overloaded the grid's been lately.
