Even though this is a property of the prims it still gets reset when a prim is copied unlike particles. Once you set Particles on a prim and remove the script then make a copy of it they still run. So why not remote pin? Seems like it would be very useful to have this stay set.
The reason I as is to see if it worth putting it up the JIRA for voting. Please comment here for reasons why it should be left the way it is or to be changed. If it is change if it could cause problems or security issues.

grrrrrrrrr the back of my brain is tickling me on this but it won't coalesce all the way Might want to send Kelly a question on this. THINK this was changed when they were fighting the greifer attacks a couple of years ago and he was working on the grey goo fence. WOW both you and Newgate popped back into the forum on the same day! WOOT!

I was wonder if this was changed have not messed with it much until now.
Basically I make it so the person has to res an object from their inventory all the time and can't just copy the object in world because the Pin gets reset. So what happens is when an object is rezzed in world a bunch of script set the Pin then delete themselves. Then the main script copies itself around the linkset turning particle parameters on and off deleting itself from the child prims once the parameters are set. So when the object is at rest there is only one active script running in the object. It works quite well.
Till we get way to set all parameters on all child prims from the root prims I am forced to do things like this to keep script count down. then again I guess who cares about sim performance these days. Only a hand full of people.

Weird. It looks like only some properties get copied and not others.
As far as I have ever seen, new prims were only supposed to have base properties, and all of the extended ones (including particles) would go away.
Maybe they fixed that at some point. Probably need to do some investigation to see what extended properties are preserved by a shift-drag copy.

It's been my experience all prim properties get reset if you copy a prim in-world. if you take an item to your inventory, and rez a copy, all prim properties remain, including script pin. Has this suddenly changed?
