Transparency script

Hello all.
I'm looking for a script that would make prims appear transparent at certain times, and visable at others. For instance , my avatar has a tail that has two postiions, up/down. When the tail is in the down position , it still exists in the up postion , but is transparent. The prims for the tai are all linked into a single object, but half of them are transpareent , and half of them are visible. When the tail moves to the up postion , the invisible and visible prims switch so that the upright tail is ivsible , and the lowered tail is invisible. Does anyone have/know where i can get a script like this ?
I'm not a coder so it would take me a while to learn how to do it , but if someone could even point me in the direction i would try my best :D
