Putting Text on a Prim

Similar to a score board I guess but not as complicated.

What I would like to do is have an avie's name show on a board when he clicks on an object. So if a button is clicked the name of the avie that clicked it would be displayed.

I have done this using a floating text but I want to have the text on a prim board that can be seen from farther away.

Any help would be appreciated.

Currently there is no easy way to put text directly on a Prim. LL has been working on HTML on a Prim - but it has been in the works for a long time now.

There is a free bit of code called XyText that you may be able to modiy for your purposes. It is a bit complicted but certainly does the trick.
